Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Different Types of CBD Oil

So you’ve decided to try something different to heal your pain. Ease your stresses. Qualm your social anxieties.

You’ve come to the right place.

CBD oil has joined the ranks in relieving all of the above symptoms and then some. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a derivative of the hemp plant, a timeless source of natural remedies for the last 10,000 years.

There are many types of CBD oil, varying in strengths, applications, and strains. Some are better for body aches, while others are better for mental relaxation. Choosing which one is best for you is as easy as knowing your preferences.

If you’re curious about this miracle plant, you’re not alone. Many are receiving the benefits of this nonpsychoactive oil, going so far as to ditch traditional methods of medicine altogether.

This informative guide outlines what CBD is and how you can use it safely.

What is CBD?

CBD is an oil derived from the hemp plant, or a healer without the stoney effects. Those who don’t want to experience the high that comes along with CBD’s counterpart, THC, are in luck. This method allows you to seek the medicinal benefits without the accompanying fuzziness.

Since CBD is nonpsychoactive, users don’t have to worry about unwanted side effects. This active ingredient provides the most therapeutic benefits. CBD levels can range, so users can start low and move up, depending on tolerance and fondness.

Using pharmaceutical drugs can be accompanied by a laundry list of negative side effects. That’s why many, mostly women, are ditching them in exchange for this natural alternative.

Pills can cause any number of extra internal ailments. You may take some meds for a headache and find that your stomach cramps have increased. Opioids for pain may lead you to the path of addiction.

Luckily, CBD oil angels have descended upon us to provide a number of different organic ways to treat ailments and suit the users. Let’s learn a few of them.

Types of CBD Oil

This boils down to mostly application of the oil. Depending on your preferred method, the oil can be vaped, rubbed on like lotion, taken orally, and more! You can even be creative with your oil, infusing it in foods or drinks.

CBD also varies in its strain, whether it be an indica- or a sativa-dominant substance. Within the strain, levels of strength can be high or low. Be careful to take proper dosages as stated on labels.

Different Approaches to Healing

There are quite a number of ways to use CBD. This list doesn’t include them all, but here are at least four.

Vaping

Vaping is great for easing your way in with small amounts. With vape pens, users can slowly take one puff at a time. This is a great way to keep your dosages in check. This effect is more delayed than others, so good for beginners.

Topical

For those who don’t want to ingest or vape, this one’s for you. CBD oil can be infused in lotions, creams, lip balms, and more. Many manufacturers are playing around with this, as the options are as endless as you are creative.

Orally, with Capsules

This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to absorb your CBD oil and start feeling its effects. Pills range from about 10-25mg each. This method allows for quick absorption into the bloodstream.

Tinctures or Concentrates

These are very concentrated versions of CBD. Tinctures and concentrates can also be taken orally. Tinctures, a much thinner consistency, can be dripped right on or under the tongue.

Within each of these methods is the option to increase or decrease your dosage amounts. One tincture bottle of CBD can be anywhere from 100-1000mg. The best way to find your go-to approach is to experiment with styles and amounts.

Indica vs. Sativa

Different types of CBD oil can depend on what strain is most dominant in your oil. Depending on what relief you are looking for, you may choose 100% of one, or a hybrid mix of both. Each offers a very specific and different effect.

Indica

These are typically higher in CBD levels. This affects body more than head, and leaves users with a heavy, “body-melting” vibe. Prepare to get locked to that couch!

Sativa

These are higher in THC levels, providing more of an uplifting feeling. This is better for taking during the daytime, as it gives your head that energizing buzz like a cup of coffee would.

Indicas tend to offer the most relief for muscle spasms, inflammation, and even insomnia. Sativas, on the other hand, can stimulate appetite (bring on the munchies!), ease migraine pain, and suppress feelings of nausea.

Four Classifications of Oil

Lastly, types of CBD oil also boil down to percentages. There are four main styles, based on how much CBD or THC is present.

Medical Marijuana Oil

Very high on the THC scale. Derived strictly from the female marijuana plant. Anywhere from 70% THC and up, with less than 5% CBD.

Cannabis Oil

Made from the entire plant, leaves and flower. Usually less than 70% THC and more than 5% CBD.

High CBD Oil

This is what we recommend. About 40% THC and at least 10% CBD. The higher the CBD levels, the more chance for therapeutic, medicinal relief.

Rick Simpson Oil

This is oil made with non-petroleum-based solvents such as vegetable oil or alcohol.

These different styles satisfy a range of different folks depending on your pain levels and ease with using CBD.

Natural Healing Is Possible

The hemp plant is as natural as you are. It’s been ingrained in our society since the beginning of time, and its popularity is only growing. The marijuana plant is securing its place in the medical world more every day.

If you’ve decided to begin organic treatment, you’re about to undertake an admiral journey. Making the switch from chemical treatment to using natural types of CBD oil sounds tough. Pharmacies are on every corner waiting to get you a script.

CBD oil won’t do that to you, guaranteed. It doesn’t need your addiction in order to be relevant. In fact, it even aids in addiction treatment. The switch will be easier than you expect it to be.

We’re striving every day to rewrite the future. Help us be a part of a growing culture. Good luck on your healing journey!
